• Thanksgiving

Well, the prep work has begun! Not only the shopping but the cleaning and all the things in between. We are expecting 6 new faces this year to our table so we have all the food to go with those additions to our table. Now, don’t get me started on all the cleaning that I Continue reading

  • Begin Again

Hello again, coming from the Ozarks! So, I need to first off say that I am so sorry that it has been as long as it has since I have posted. To be honest with you, I have had to take some time and try to get through some things and create some new places Continue reading

  • Summer Time!

Woohoo! I am so excited for this summer and all the things that are happening! We are less that 2 weeks away from my big family camp trip and it is going to be so fantastic! My dad has the scavenger hunt all ready to go and even has the prizes on order with a local vender. I Continue reading

  • Restoration

I used to feel like I had gone too far. I felt like there was no way that God could ever use me again or that I had missed the chance to work in ministry. The truth is that I had felt like such a failure that God was just done with me and didn’t Continue reading

  • Days gone by….

I am sitting here today with so much change happening! I am watching my beautiful garden growing and producing, even though I haven’t ate anything out of it yet. There will be plenty of produce for me to preserve, though! I am looking for recipes for canning things such as pickles, peppers, relish, and anything else Continue reading

  • It’s Really Tough Sometimes…..

Have you ever had one of those days? The ones that make you question everything about your life? It seems like I have those days more and more often here lately. I have had so many questions, concerns, and crying sessions than I wonder sometimes if it will ever get better. The truth is that Continue reading

  • Friends and Family

We all have friends. They are the family that we choose for ourselves. I have been so blessed over the years to have many friends that have turned into family. My husband and I have added people to that list over the years that are aunts and uncles to our baby girl. Others of those Continue reading

  • Changing Times

This has been a crazy month with so many things happening. First, my brother nearly died and I was busy taking care of him. On the up side he is better, so we are relieved. Next, we went on our vacation to the gulf, which was much needed on my part. Lastly, a cousin on Continue reading

  • Day 1

Well, I officially went and talked to the local college about earning a masters degree. What do I want to major in? No clue. To top it all off, my chicks are growing so fast that I am trying to get the pen done as quickly as possible to be able to move them to Continue reading

  • Changes

I would never have thought it would have been me. I mean, these were never words that I would have thought I would have uttered, “I want to be a stay at home mom.” Granted, I have always wanted to have a hobby farm, garden, take responsibility for my own food source, all of these Continue reading

About Me

My name is Alle and I am a small town country girl who lives in an equally small town in the south. I am married to a former marine who puts up with my loony antics, we have 2 beautiful daughters we would do anything for, and we live on a modest homestead specializing in as organic as possible animals and produce.

I started a blog in hopes of reaching people with the thoughts rolling around in my head and the words that the Lord shares with my heart. Some days it may be crazy animals, and others may be a heartfelt confession. Either way, I hope my words are able to bring a smile or touch a heart that needs whatever I can offer.
