With friends like these….
I have always been a social person. I love to be around people and can get along with anyone. For most of my life I have believed I was surrounded by numerous friends that loved me. In fact, I have always believed that the ones I call friends would fight for me even behind closed Continue reading

Lean not on our own understanding.
I have always heard this verse and told myself I completely understood what King Solomon was trying to tell us. I have tried to apply this truth to my life many times over and I know that the Lord has seen my whole hearted efforts. However, recently this verse has taken on so many different Continue reading

Kids – Why did no one tell me it was this hard?!?!
I have been so busy with the farm, spring time you know, and with simply surviving the daily demands of life, that I have let the real issues of taking the best care of my children become less of a focus in my life. Now, don’t get the wrong idea, I take good care of Continue reading

For real?
Have you ever just had one of those day? Like the day started out pretty ok but then at the end of the day you are like, “what the crap?” Yep, I had one of those days. I simply was getting up early (very early) to take my mom to work because she had hit Continue reading

March 21, 2022
We are currently starting a small group bible study on the Book of Daniel. The amazing thing is that we have done the study before but this word is so relevant to world events today. I really only want to share one part of the weekly with you because it really spoke to me. When Continue reading

Sunday Mornings

I woke up this morning very ready for church because of the fellowship with other believers. I need the connection to other people that do not include conversations about business practices or about the fact that the “chickie laid an egg in the window box!” I love to talk to other believer about the goodness Continue reading

Little Things
I have had a few weeks that have just about run me ragged. Instead of focusing on the good, I have been so overcome by the bad that there seems to be no escape. My family has been going through a time of conflict that we have not had in years, my cousin (who helped Continue reading

Mourning or Morning
This has been a rough few months. Classes started back this week and I can already see the major changes that have happened in our families lives. I drove to my only on-campus class today and, for the first time in my life, I did not visit my Granny’s. When I say that our family Continue reading

Jesus, bring the rain!
Rain. For most people, rain is one of the worst things you can do to their day. It ruins camping trips and picnics, parties and weddings. However, in my case, I love the rain. There is nothing that makes me happier than a good rain shower or thunderstorm to make me feel all cosy and Continue reading

New year and new us!
This picture says so many things about the new year for me! I want to be closer to God in the coming year than ever before, and I want to study his word deeply and grow in my knowledge of the mind and heart of God. I also have some personal goals such as a Continue reading
About Me
My name is Alle and I am a small town country girl who lives in an equally small town in the south. I am married to a former marine who puts up with my loony antics, we have 2 beautiful daughters we would do anything for, and we live on a modest homestead specializing in as organic as possible animals and produce.
I started a blog in hopes of reaching people with the thoughts rolling around in my head and the words that the Lord shares with my heart. Some days it may be crazy animals, and others may be a heartfelt confession. Either way, I hope my words are able to bring a smile or touch a heart that needs whatever I can offer.
